Russell Stokes

President & CEO, Commercial Engines & Services, GE Aviation at General Electric

As President and CEO, Commercial Engines and Services, Russell Stokes leads the commercial engines and services businesses of GE Aviation.

Previously, Russell was Chairman of GE Power Portfolio. He also served as CEO of GE Power Portfolio, a collection of businesses that include GE Power Conversion, GE Hitachi Nuclear and GE Steam Power, a grouping created to better align to customer and market segments.

In 2017, Russell was named CEO of GE Power, during a critical transformation of the business. Before leading GE Power, Russell was President & CEO of GE Energy Connections, an electrification, grid and controls business. He previously served as President & CEO of GE Transportation, a global leader in rail, mining and marine industries.

Russell has more than 24 years of GE experience, including seven years at GE Aviation where he served as the Sourcing General Manager, Services Chief Risk Officer and Customized Service Agreements Finance Leader. He began his career in GE Lighting where held roles of increasing responsibility.

Russell is a member of the Board of Directors for UPS. He also is a member of Board of Trustees for the Morehouse School of Medicine and Three-Dimensional Education (3DE) by Junior Achievement, an association dedicated to re-engineering high school education. Russell is active in the Atlanta community serving on the Executive Committee of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce (MACOC), where he served as the Chairman of Atlanta’s Committee for Progress.

Russell graduated from Cleveland State University with a degree in finance and is a graduate of GE’s Financial Management Program.
