Serap Vatansever

Serap Vatansever is an accomplished Research and Development Scientist at General Mills since March 2025, specializing as a Technical Lead in Frozen Baked Goods-Biscuits. Prior to this role, Serap served as a Lecturer and Postdoctoral Associate at the University of Minnesota from August 2021 to March 2025 and held a Postdoctoral Research Associate position at South Dakota State University from June 2020 to August 2021. Academic experiences include a Ph.D. in Cereal and Food Science from North Dakota State University, where Serap's main research focused on flavor modification of peas and starch and protein functional properties of dry peas, along with a Minor in Applied Statistics. Other professional experiences range from food safety, quality, and research internships to roles in process science and corporate responsibility within the food industry. Additionally, educational qualifications encompass a Master’s in Food Microbiology and Biotechnology and a Bachelor’s in Food Engineering from Pamukkale University, supplemented by a Women's Leadership Program Certificate from the North Dakota Women's Business Center.
