Arden Hoffman

SVP & Chief People Officer at General Motors

Arden Hoffman was appointed senior vice president and chief people officer in January 2023. Prior to this role, Hoffman served as Cruise’s chief people officer, driving the company’s People strategy. Her team supported Cruise’s mission to build the most advanced self-driving vehicle by creating a high-performance culture where Cruisers could do their best work.

Before Cruise, Arden was the vice president of People at Dropbox, where she was responsible for building and scaling the company and culture across its 12 global offices. Her leadership guided the company from a private startup to a publicly traded company. Prior to that, she served in numerous people leadership roles at Google and Goldman Sachs.

Hoffman is also an advisor to fast-growing technology companies looking to build and scale great, global HR functions and teams. She works closely with CEOs, management teams and boards to ensure that the HR function supports a company's business, culture and people.

Hoffman has a Bachelor of Arts with honors in rhetoric from University of California, Berkeley and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
