Neal Parsons

Neal Parsons is a Virtual Design, Development & Validation Engineer at General Motors, specializing in Electrification and Powertrain Thermal Management with a focus on 3D Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) since January 2020. Prior to this role, Parsons served as a Lead Engineer at Siemens PLM Software from January 2017 to January 2020 and held positions as a Senior Engineer at CD-adapco and a Graduate Student Researcher at Penn State University. While at Penn State, research involved developing models for Direct Simulation Monte Carlo computations related to hypersonic spacecraft. Previous research experience includes work at UCLA on real gas flow and thermochemical non-equilibrium modeling, as well as internships and co-op roles at multiple engineering firms. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from Penn State University, a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from UCLA, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
