Brett Prather

Chief of Staff at General Services Administration

Brett Prather serves as the U.S. General Services Administration’s (GSA) Chief of Staff.

In this role, Brett uses his experience in legislative affairs, strategic communication, public policy, leadership and management as he works with GSA’s leadership to support the fulfillment of the agency’s mission.

Prior to his role as Chief of Staff, he served at Seattle Foundation, working to create a more just and equitable region. Before joining the social impact sector, Brett served GSA during the Obama-Biden Administration in a number of roles, including as the Deputy Associate Administrator for Policy in the Office of Congressional & Intergovernmental Affairs and as the Associate Administrator for Strategic Communication. He has also served in the Office of U.S. Senator Patty Murray and former President Barack Obama's 2008 Campaign. He believes in empowering employees; leading with humility; and always maintaining a focus on serving the American people.

Prather is a graduate of Chapman University in Southern California.
