Francesco Martorana

Group Chief Investment Officer at Generali

Francesco Martorana has been appointed Group CIO in March 2021. From 2017 to 2021 he was CIO and then CEO of Generali Insurance Asset Management, the asset management company of Generali Group specialized in liability-driven investments for captive and third party insurance companies and pension funds, one of the largest asset management companies in Italy and Europe by assets under management.

Francesco joined Generali Group in 2013 as the Head of Group Asset Liability Management & Strategic Asset Allocation (ALM/SAA).

Since 2017 he is also a member of the board of directors of Generali Italia. Since 2019 he is also a member of the board of directors of Generali Insurance Asset Management and since 2021 of Investors Leadership Network.

Prior to Generali, Francesco worked 8 years in Allianz Group, holding several management positions in the investment department both in Italy and Germany. He started his career as an intern in Deutsche Bank and JPMorgan Chase.

A CFA and CAIA Charterholder, he holds a Master Degree cum Laude in Financial Markets and Institutions Economics from Università Commerciale Bocconi in Milan.
