Tharindi Hapuarachchi

Tharindi Hapuarachchi, PhD, has a diverse range of work experience. Tharindi currently holds the position of VP Machine Learning Strategy & Operations at Generate:Biomedicines. Tharindi is responsible for overseeing machine learning strategies and operations within the company.

Prior to this role, Tharindi worked as a Board Trustee for the British Society for Haematology, where they contributed to the organization's governance and decision-making processes.

Tharindi also had a significant tenure at DeepMind, where they held various roles. As part of the Strategy Science Team, they played a role in identifying opportunities for new Alphabet AI drug discovery companies. Tharindi also led the transformational change to improve the flow of DeepMind technology from research to applied research and Google products. Tharindi additionally worked as a Data Scientist at eRevalue, where they contributed to the development of interactive visualizations for the company's sustainability platform. Tharindi also had research positions at University Hospital Zürich, where they worked with clinicians and researchers in the field of neonatology, and at the University of Oxford. Furthermore, they served as a Postgraduate Teaching Assistant at UCL.
