Ryan Spencer is an instructional leader, system builder, and professional learning strategist with more than twenty years of experience helping schools strengthen teaching and accelerate student learning. His career spans classrooms, school leadership, university teaching, district partnerships, national consulting, and now executive leadership as Vice President of Professional Learning at Generation Ready.
Across his work in both Australia and the United States, Ryan has focused on one core purpose: He creates the conditions where educators thrive and students succeed. He leads through research-driven practice, human-centered coaching, and the development of clear and coherent systems that enable sustainable improvement.

Ryan's background includes serving as a school leader and instructional mentor in Australia, a Clinical Teaching Specialist at the University of Canberra, and a Senior Education Consultant supporting more than thirty NYCPS schools across initiatives such as MSQI, District Literacy Hubs, and the NYC Literacy Collaborative. He has published research, presented nationally and internationally, and contributed public commentary on literacy and instructional practice.
At Generation Ready, Ryan leads the national professional learning portfolio. He designs systems, frameworks, and coaching models that position the work to be rigorous, measurable, and responsive to district needs. He excels at translating complex instructional initiatives into clear and actionable pathways for educators and leaders.
