Hank Safferstein has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and industries. Hank began their career at Bristol-Myers Squibb as the Director of Worldwide Licensing and Life Cycle Management in the Cardiovascular and Metabolics division. From there, they moved on to Acorda Therapeutics, where they served as the Vice President of Corporate Development. Following these roles, they joined Omrix Biopharmaceuticals as the Vice President of Business Development.

Hank then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Neurobiology and Human Anatomy at the University of Louisville from 1986 to 1989. Afterwards, they completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Multiple Sclerosis at The University of Connecticut Health Center from 1989 to 1991. Additionally, they attended the American University Washington College of Law from 1992 to 1996, earning a Doctor of Law (JD) degree with a focus on Contracts, Intellectual Property, Food and Drug Law and Policy, and Securities Regulations. Lastly, Hank obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Finance from Columbia Business School between 1998 and 2000.
