S. Elaheh Ghiasian, PhD has diverse work experience in various roles and industries. S. Elaheh started their career as an Engineering Intern at Iran Transfo, where they gained training on transformer vessel design and manufacturing processes, as well as quality control through Non-destructive Testing.

S. Elaheh then worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Zanjan, where they assisted in various courses and also taught as a TA. S. Elaheh also conducted research as a Graduate Student and developed methodologies for predicting thermal dynamic and static buckling phenomena for composite/FGM structures.

Afterward, Ghiasian served as a Research Assistant at Amirkabir University of Technology - Tehran Polytechnic, where they designed and developed novel methodologies for predicting thermal-induced vibrations of functionally graded material beam structures. S. Elaheh also analyzed geometrically non-linear vibrations using FEA analysis.

Following that, they worked as a Design Engineer at Niroo Research Institute, where they simulated and optimized the stress distribution and designs of metal bellows in gas turbines.

Ghiasian then joined the University at Buffalo as a Teaching Assistant, where they assisted faculty members in organizing courses and led Creo software laboratory sessions.

S. Elaheh later served as an Entrepreneurial Lead at NSF I-Corps Site UPRM, leading the transition of their developed AM software technology to the marketplace. S. Elaheh conducted market segmentation analysis, customer discovery, and business model canvas.

Their most recent role is as a Mechanical (Design & Structural) Engineer at Genesis Engineering Solutions, Inc., where they provide engineering and analysis support to NASA's Godard Space Flight Center. S. Elaheh also contributes to NASA's Balloon Mission project by designing and performing structural analysis on the balloon's gondola and associated subsystems.

S. Elaheh Ghiasian, PhD has an extensive education background in the field of Mechanical Engineering. In 2006, they completed their Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Zanjan. S. Elaheh continued their studies by pursuing a Master of Science degree at Amirkabir University of Technology - Tehran Polytechnic from 2011 to 2013.
