Marlene Smurzynski

Marlene Smurzynski is the current Executive Director of Evidence Strategy at Genesis Research. Marlene has held this position for 11 months. Prior to that, they were the Executive Director of Frontier Science & Technology Research Foundation, Inc. (FSTRF) for 8 months. Before that, they worked at IQVIA for 6 years and 6 months in various positions, including Principal, Low Complexity Studies (United States), Principal, Evidence Strategy Lead, Evidence Strategy Lead, Senior Epidemiologist. Marlene also worked as a Visiting Scientist at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health for 4 years and 1 month. Additionally, they were an Assistant Research Professor at George Washington University in the School of Public Health and Health Sciences Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics for 1 year and 7 months. Marlene started their career as a Research Scientist/Research Associate at Harvard School of Public Health in the Center for Biostatistics in AIDS Research Department of Biostatistics and then the Center for Biostatistics in AIDS Research Department of Biostatistics for 8 years. Marlene also worked as a Research Assistant at North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services in the HIV/STD Prevention and Care Branch Retrospective ascertainment of HIV transmission risk for less than a year. After that, they were a Project Director/Senior Research Associate/Data Manager at New England Research Institutes, Inc. (NERI) for 2 years. Finally, they were a Research Assistant/HelpLine Supervisor at Rescon, Inc. for 1 year.

Marlene Smurzynski has a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Master of Science in Public Health in Epidemiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The Johns Hopkins University.
