Jessica M. Vélez, PhD, is a highly experienced professional in the fields of genetics and science communication, currently serving as the Membership, Engagement, and Early Career Programs Manager and Acting Director of Engagement at the Genetics Society of America since February 2021. Prior to this, Jessica held various roles including Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where significant contributions were made to the understanding of ectomycorrhizal fungi, and TAGC and Project Assistant at the Genetics Society of America.
