Liam Farrell, MS, MBA, PMP, has extensive work experience spanning over several decades in various roles within the healthcare industry.
Starting in 1988, Liam worked as a Research Specialist at the University of Illinois before transitioning to the University of Illinois at Chicago as a Senior Research Specialist. In 1989, they joined Baxter Healthcare Corporation where they held positions such as Research Assistant, Research Associate, and eventually Research Associate III. During their time at Baxter, Liam supervised physiology personnel and conducted R&D physiology studies to support the development of Baxter's products.
In the year 2000, Liam took on the role of Project Manager in the Innovation and Strategic Initiatives/Global Program Management Group at Baxter Healthcare Corporation, where they implemented project management processes and improvements. Liam also achieved their Project Management Professional (PMP) certification during this time. In 2002, they became a Research Scientist at Fenwal, providing support to various departments and the Medical group.
In 2003, Liam joined Nanosphere, Inc as the Director of Program Management, where they were responsible for planning and managing development and infrastructure programs. Liam successfully led the establishment of a cGMP manufacturing facility and managed teams for quality systems, product manufacture, and testing processes.
Returning to Baxter Healthcare Corporation in 2007, Liam became a Senior Project Manager, leading the development of new intravenous nutritional products. Liam also implemented project management process improvements and participated in the selection of portfolio and resource management software tools. In 2010, they became the Director of Program Management, managing a portfolio of projects for the development of new drug products and global expansion initiatives.
From 2012 to 2020, Liam joined Astellas Pharma as the Director of Medical and Scientific Affairs Project Management, Senior Director of Project Management for Global Medical Affairs, and Senior Director of Healthcare Compliance. In these roles, they supported Medical Affairs with compliance needs, implemented strategic planning processes, managed project managers, and led continuous improvement efforts.
In 2021, Liam joined PTS Diagnostics as an Operations Project Manager, leading projects related to manufacturing, operations, and infrastructure improvements. Liam focused on duplicating manufacturing equipment and processes to a new facility and supported regulatory and transfer projects with the parent company.
Currently, Liam is serving as a Senior Program Manager at Genezen, leading client-focused programs for the development of cellular and gene therapy products. Liam manages multiple programs for the largest client, optimizing the program management office and enhancing metrics, reporting, and work forecasting.

Liam Farrell, MS, MBA, PMP has an extensive and diverse education history. Liam obtained their Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Illinois University in 1986. Following this, they pursued their passion for biology and completed their Master of Science degree in the subject at Eastern Illinois University in 1987.
Later in their career, Liam chose to enhance their knowledge and skills in business administration. Liam attended Lake Forest Graduate School of Management from 2009 to 2012 to earn their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. This advanced degree provided him with a solid foundation in various aspects of management and strategic decision-making.
