Andrew Balster

President, Physical Space Practice at geniant

Andrew Balster has a diverse and impressive work experience. Andrew currently serves as the President of the Physical Space Practice at geniant, where they help organizations improve employee and customer experiences through ethnographic methods and experience research. Prior to this role, Andrew worked as a Board of Directors member and Senior-Vice President at CannonDesign, leading the growth and development of the Chicago office. Andrew also served as the Executive Director of ARCHEWORKS, a design school and think-tank, and as a Strategic Advisor to the Governor's Chair at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP. Additionally, Andrew has held positions at Delft University of Technology, Virginia Tech, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP, Make Architects, and Rapson Architects. Throughout their career, they have been recognized for their design expertise and has collaborated closely with clients on various national and international projects.

Andrew Balster attended Marquette University High School from 1994 to 1997. Andrew then went on to the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities from 1997 to 2002, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture. In 2004, they enrolled at The University of Edinburgh and completed a Master of Science (MSc) in Advanced Architectural Design in 2005. From 2004 to 2006, they also pursued a Master of Architecture (MArch) at The University of Edinburgh, specializing in Architecture.
