Reinier Swanepoel's work experience begins in 2014 at Cathedral Catholic High School, where they served as a Head Lifeguard/Supervisor. In this role, they oversaw daily operations, supervised multiple aquatic teams, and managed the pool's schedule. From 2018, they also worked as a San Diego Water Polo Official Referee for USA Water Polo, where they gained expertise in the sport's rules and regulations.

In 2012, Reinier started their own swim lesson business in San Diego, providing expert instruction to learners of all age groups as a Lifeguard/Private Swim Instructor at the Rancho Bernardo Swim and Tennis Community Club.

In 2022, they participated in the Summer Scholars Program at Viasat Inc., where they collaborated with faculty mentors on STEM research projects as a Data Engineer.

Currently, Reinier works at GenMark Diagnostics as a Data Analyst. Their responsibilities include creating custom ETL pipelines, conducting automated analyses, and utilizing various technologies and methodologies, such as SnowFlake, JMP/JSL, SpotFire, Python, and Microsoft Power Platform.

Reinier Swanepoel completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from California State University San Marcos between 2019 and 2023. In May 2022, they obtained the Jira Fundamentals Badge from Atlassian.
