Naveen Venayak

Naveen Venayak is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in data science and bioinformatics. Currently serving as Associate Director of Data Science at Geno since June 2018, Naveen has successfully developed AI pipelines that drive significant business value in R&D programs, delivered AI recommenders for DNA and protein design, and built a business intelligence platform for product strategy. Prior to this role, Naveen held multiple positions at Geno, including establishing a new Bioinformatics & Data Science group and optimizing data science infrastructure. Naveen's academic background includes a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto and dual Bachelor's degrees in Biotechnology and Applied Chemistry from the University of Ottawa, further complemented by various research roles in microbial engineering and bioenergetics.
