Chris Griffiths has a diverse work experience in the maritime and technology industries. Chris started their career as an Engineer Cadet at Stolt Offshore in 2003. From 2005 to 2011, they held various engineering roles at Subsea 7, including 3rd Engineer/2nd Engineer and 1st Engineer. Chris was responsible for the day-to-day running and maintenance of engine rooms on different vessels. In 2015, they became a 1st Engineer on the lay deck for Subsea 7's pipelay vessel, managing operations and maintenance of lay systems. In 2017, Chris co-founded Genomes.io and served as the COO, leading its growth in the market. Since 2018, they have been serving as the Chief Engineer on board the PLSV Seven Sun for Subsea 7, managing all technical departments and ensuring efficient performance.
Chris Griffiths attended Liverpool John Moores University from 2001 to 2004, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical and Marine Engineering. Chris then attended King George V Sixth Form College from 1999 to 2001, obtaining A-Levels in Maths, Physics, and Economics.
In 2009, Chris Griffiths enrolled at the Glasgow College of Nautical Studies and completed a program to become a MCA 2nd Engineer Officer Unlimited. Chris also pursued an SVQ Level 3 in Engineering Officer Of The Watch from the same institution, although the exact dates are not provided.
In 2014, they obtained a Chief Engineer Motor (Unlimited) Certificate of Competency from the Maritime & Coastguard Agency. Additionally, Chris Griffiths became an Affiliate Member of The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) at an unknown time.
Finally, in 2015, Chris Griffiths attended the City of Glasgow College and obtained a STCW Chief Engineer Unlimited certification.
