Matthew Proxenos

Matthew Proxenos is an experienced software engineer and biomedical engineer, currently serving as a Backend Software Engineer at Genomics England since June 2022, where responsibilities include developing a data pipeline for whole-genome sequencing. Prior experience includes roles as a Senior Data Engineer and Data Engineer at CMR Surgical, leading projects in real-time AI/ML applications and designing automated ETL pipelines. Matthew has also worked as a Contract Software Developer at Convex Financial, contributing to custom software solutions, and as a Biomedical Engineer at Disa Vascular, focusing on the development of medical devices. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Cape Town and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand.
