Leon Low Jie Wei

Leon Low Jie Wei is a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) at Shopee, with experience in engineering infrastructure since August 2025. Prior to this role, Leon worked at Thunes as a Software Engineer (Fullstack), focusing on FinTech and B2B cross-border payment services, where multiple frontend applications and backend microservices were developed. During time at ST Engineering, Leon utilized various technologies to create a monolithic application and led a team as Scrum Master to develop a Task Management System. Earlier experience includes a role as a Research and Technology Analyst at Sembcorp Industries Ltd, enhancing performance of industrial projects through data analysis, while also serving in the Singapore Armed Forces as an Armor Infantry Sergeant. Leon holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from the National University of Singapore. Awards include the 2016 Best in Knowledge Award and Best Section Award, as well as a 2024 Letter of Commendation for outstanding performance during reservist training.
