David Barrett

David Barrett has a diverse work experience in the fields of marketing, advertising, and design. David started their career as an Advertising Designer and Macintosh Coordinator at The Charlotte Observer, where they designed advertising and artwork for clients and trained artists on Macintosh applications. David then worked as a Desktop Publishing Coordinator and Break Magazine Creative Director at Knight Publishing, where they coordinated Macintosh graphics advancements and developed prototypes for potential publications. After that, they served as a Marketing, Advertising, and Promotions Designer at Asheville Citizen-Times Media Group, where they designed promotional materials and marketing campaigns. David later became the Marketing Creative Director at Genova Diagnostics, overseeing and implementing visual aspects of marketing and educational collateral. In addition, they have also operated as a freelance artist and designer under Smackiepipe Productions.

David Barrett attended Appalachian State University from 1979 to 1984, where they received a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcasting. During their time at the university, they also studied Marketing Communications - Media Advertising. In 2017 and 2018, David obtained Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt and Purple Belt certifications, respectively, from iplqi.
