Babu Rajagopal has worked in the technology field since 2000. Babu started their career as a Lead Engineer at Amoeba Telecom/ iSoftel Telecommunications in 2000. Babu then moved to Samsung India Software Operations as a Senior Software Engineer in 2003. In 2004, they joined Alcatel Development India as a Software Engineer - A. In 2005, they joined Cisco Systems as a Technical Leader and Principal Member, Technical Staff. Babu's key contributions at Cisco Systems included LTE Trusted wifi aggregation, offload solutions for UMTS, PoC, product definition, overall architecture, design, and being in charge of the initial release. Babu was also involved in solution architecture and customer demos. In 2015, they joined Parallel Wireless as a Software Architect. In 2021, they joined Highway9 Networks Inc. as a Staff Engineer. Finally, they are currently working as a Software Architect at GXC.

Babu Rajagopal has an extensive educational background. Babu began their studies in 1995 at Bharathiar University, where they earned a Bachelor of Engg in Electronics & Comm. In 1999, they completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Advanced Computing from the Center For Development of Advanced Computing - CDAC. Babu then went on to earn a Masters in Science in Software Systems from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani in 2002. In 2013, they completed a SMP in strategy & general management from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta. Additionally, they have a certification in Deep Learning from One Fourth Labs, which they obtained in September 2020.
