Haiming Wang

Principal Member of Technical Staff, Imaging Engineer at Geo Semiconductor

Haiming Wang has a strong background in optical engineering and imaging technology. Haiming started their career in 2003 at KLA as a Sr Staff Scientist, where they worked for almost 10 years. Haiming then joined Nanometrics as a Technical Fellow and Director of Metrology Technology Development for a year. After that, they worked at Western Digital as a Technologist & Sr. Principal Engineer from 2014 to 2017.

In 2007, Haiming Wang joined Light Labs as a Principal Scientist, where they designed mid- and long-focal length camera lenses with large image height and low F# and optimized them for performance and manufacturing. Haiming also conducted tolerance analysis, thermal analysis, and stray light analysis, as well as optimized the manufacturing process.

From 2018 to 2019, Haiming Wang worked at ASML as a Staff Optical Engineer. Haiming then joined onsemi as a Sr. Principal Optical Specialist, managing sensor-lens integration projects and inventing intelligent sensing devices and systems.

In 2021, they became a Sr Optical Engineer at Zoox, leading CMOS sensor and optical imaging system integration projects for autonomous driving. Haiming filed three patent applications related to Lidar and RGB-IR cameras and worked on a stray light metrology and reduction project.

Most recently, Haiming Wang joined GEO Semiconductor, Inc. in 2022 as a Principal Member of Technical Staff, Imaging Engineer. Haiming is responsible for leading image quality tuning and validation, focusing on automotive applications such as autonomous driving and ADAS. Haiming has developed a batch simulation tool and optimized IQ in hardware/chip registers, firmware/rom, and software for various image sensors from different vendors, with a particular focus on color fidelity and contrast optimization.

Haiming Wang holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Optical Engineering from Zhejiang University. Haiming also obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Applied Optics and Optical Engineering from Changchun Inst Opts, Fine Mech & Physics, Chinese Academy of Sci/Siemens Center for R & D Munich. Prior to their PhD, they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Applied Optics and Optical Engineering from Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics, and Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Additionally, Haiming Wang completed a Post-Doc in Precision Engineering and Optical Engineering at Technische Universität Kaiserslautern.
