Daniel Domínguez Vázquez has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles.
Daniel started their career as a Private Tutor, working freelance from 2001 to 2009.
In 2008, they worked as a Research Scholar in Econophysics at the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela for a year. Daniel also held a position as a Research Scientist at the same university in 2009.
From 2009 to 2014, Daniel served as a PHD Student and researcher at CIEMAT, specifically at CERN. Daniel was involved in Physics analysis with Big Data, including tasks such as filtering and cleaning data samples.
In 2011, Daniel became a Guide of the CERN Visit Service and held this role until September 2015.
In 2015, Daniel joined S2DS (Science to Data Science) & RefMe as a Data Science Fellow for a short period. During this time, they participated in a Data Science & Big Data camp and worked on a project to build a citation recommender system.
Also in 2015, they began their tenure at Geoblink. Daniel started as a Senior Data Scientist, where they focused on munging and analyzing spatial data to aid in decision-making. In this role, they also conducted data modeling and analysis for a better understanding of the business.
In 2016, Daniel became a Lead Data Scientist at Geoblink, where they were responsible for advanced analysis of spatial data and building estimations of relevant business KPIs, such as customer segmentation and store performance prediction.
In 2019, they were promoted to Head of Data, managing a team of Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and mixed-profile professionals for the design and development of scalable data storage systems, data acquisition systems, and creation of KPIs from multiple geospatial sources.
Currently, Daniel remains at Geoblink in the role of Head of Data, leading a team of professional services for data analytical projects in the retail ecosystem, providing support to the sales team and defining project proposals.
Daniel Domínguez Vázquez earned a Licentiate degree in Physics from Universidad de Santiago de Compostela from 2003 to 2008. Daniel then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Fundamental Physics at Universidad Complutense de Madrid from 2009 to 2010. Following that, they completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Experimental High Energy Physics at the same university from 2009 to 2014. Additionally, in September 2015, Daniel obtained a certification called S2DS 2015 London from Pivigo.
