Luis Alberto Rivas

Luis Alberto Rivas has a diverse work experience in various industries. Luis Alberto is currently the Head Geocycle at Geocycle, where they have P&L responsibility for Geocycle Ecuador and leads efforts to decarbonize energy and materials. Prior to that, they served as a Board Member at CEMDES, representing Holcim and promoting sustainable development in Ecuador. Luis Alberto also worked as the Regional General Manager at Grupo Pochteca, overseeing chemicals distribution and circular economy solutions. Additionally, Luis has experience as a Lecturer at Escuela Bancaria y Comercial and Universidad Tecmilenio, as well as General Manager at Promotora Ambiental S.A.B. de C.V. and Business Development Director at Soluciona Energía, S.A. de C.V. Luis Alberto also held positions at Tecnológico de Monterrey and CEMEX, serving as Regional Manager and Project Manager, respectively.

Luis Alberto Rivas has a strong educational background in the field of business and engineering. Luis Alberto obtained their Master's degree in Business Administration and Management from Tecnológico de Monterrey, where they studied from 2007 to 2011. Prior to that, they pursued an Engineer's degree in Industrial and System Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey, which they completed between 1999 and 2004. Moreover, in 2003 they briefly studied at Tulane University's A.B. Freeman School of Business, focusing on Business Administration and Management.

In addition to their academic pursuits, Luis Alberto Rivas has also achieved the certification of Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute. Luis Alberto successfully obtained this certification in December 2020, further demonstrating their commitment to professional growth and expertise in project management.
