Hafsa Ahmed Munia

Hafsa Ahmed Munia is a Senior Specialist at the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK), serving as a Project Manager and Research Scientist in the geoinformatics team since May 2022. Hafsa is involved in multiple national and international projects, including EIS_HorizonEU, AIMEX - Business Finland, GOLDEN-RAM_HorizonEU, and MaaTU under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. Prior experience includes a researcher role at the Finnish Environment Institute, focusing on freshwater ecosystem accounting and benefit-sharing in transboundary river basins, and various academic positions related to water governance, climate change, and spatial analysis at Aalto University. Hafsa holds a Ph.D. in Water and Development from Aalto University, complemented by a Master's in Civil and Environmental Engineering and an MBA in Finance.
