Monica Jimenez Gonzalez has a diverse work experience in various companies and roles. Monica started their career in 2004 at Thomas & Partners Law Firm as a Lawyer in investor-State arbitration. Monica then joined Fasken Martineau DuMoulin law firm in 2006 as a Senior Associate, specializing in International Commercial Arbitration and investor-State Arbitration.

In 2016, Monica became a Board Member of Refinería de Cartagena and also Vice President of Corporate Affairs & Secretary General at Ecopetrol, where they focused on corporate governance, corporate responsibility, and legal matters. Monica served in these positions until 2022.
