Jonathan Montero has over 12 years of professional experience in the IT field. From 2008 to 2011, they worked as a GNU/Linux Instructor at Fundación Código Libre. From 2011 to 2013, they were a Network Administrator at Bravo's SuperMarket. From 2013 to 2014, they were an IT Manager at Theorem Creations, LLC and an IT Security Manager at CapyCon SRL. From 2014 to 2016, they were a System Engineer at Caribe Media, Inc. From 2016 to 2017, they were a Linux Trainer at Soportech. From 2018 to 2019, they worked as a Linux Support Engineer at CloudBrix, LLC, a DevOps Engineer at Codemera, and a Solutions Specialist at SoftwareONE República Dominicana. Jonathan currently works at GeoPhy as a SRE Team Lead and Linux System Administrator.

Jonathan Montero began their educational journey in 1997 when they completed their High School Diploma from Manuel Rodriguez Objio High School in General Studies. In 2004, they earned their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo. In 2005, they obtained their Cisco Certified Network Associated from ITLA in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications. In 2016, they achieved Fluidez de Duolingo en inglés: Avanzado (Estimado) from Duolingo. In 2017, they earned their CISSP from Cyborg.com.do in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance. In 2019, they received their Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate from Microsoft. In 2020, they obtained their Lifelong Learning from CertiProf. In 2021, they achieved their LFCS from The Linux Foundation. Jonathan is also currently pursuing their Scrum Foundation Professional Certificate (SFPC) from CertiProf.
