Matthew Cater

Matthew Cater has held various positions in the technology industry over the past 22 years. In 1999, they began as a Sr. Systems Administrator for the City of Capitola, California. Matthew then moved to Pacific Capital Bancorp in 2005, where they worked as a Software Application Manager. Later that same year, they took on the role of Solutions Architect for Novacoast. In 2011, they joined Virginia Tech as a Sr. Application Analyst. In 2012, they became a DevOps Lead for the University of Illinois at Chicago. In 2015, they became a DevOps Manager for DRIVIN powered by KAR. In 2019, they accepted the role of Engineering Manager for Vivid Seats LLC. Most recently, in 2022, they were appointed AVP, Site Reliability Engineering for GeoPhy.

Matthew Cater attended the University of California, Santa Cruz from 1996 to 1998, studying Linguistics.
