George Mark Children's House || Center of Excellence in Pediatric Palliative Care

George Mark Children's House is a non-profit organization providing comprehensive quality medical care for children and their families. We are the first free standing pediatric palliative care facility in the country. The House itself is designed to look and feel like a family home, complete with all its comforts, such as a fully staffed kitchen, playrooms, and family apartments. It is in this nurturing environment that the House offers three critical services: respite, transitional (in between hospital and home), and end of life care. Our mission is to provide the highest quality of care and to minimize suffering by addressing the physical, emotional, spiritual and psychosocial needs of the entire family. In doing so, we strive to achieve the best quality of life possible from the moment of admission onward, through strong collaboration between families, the child's physician(s), and our interdisciplinary team. Volunteers are an integral part of our mission and are considered a crucial part of our staff in helping us fully realize our commitment to children and families.
