Bill Nelson

Bill Nelson is an accomplished economist with extensive experience in academia and various financial institutions. Currently serving as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University since January 2021 and as Chief Economist at the Bank Policy Institute since July 2018, Bill has previously held chief economist positions at The Clearing House and held significant roles at the Federal Reserve Board, including Deputy Director. Bill's work at the Federal Reserve involved oversight of monetary policy strategy and contributions to financial stability reporting. Bill's international expertise includes a tenure as a senior economist at the Bank for International Settlements, where responsibilities included overseeing monetary policy and exchange rates. Bill holds a PhD in Economics from Yale University and a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia.
