Barbara Kaumeyer

Barbara Kaumeyer, CFE, CGAP has a strong background in finance and auditing. Barbara began their career at H&R Block as a Tax Preparer from October 2009 to April 2012. From October 2006 to October 2018, Barbara worked as a Senior Auditor II at the Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts, where they implemented internal control programs and conducted risk-mitigating audits for various state agencies and pension systems.

Barbara then joined the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities as an Internal Audit Manager II from October 2018 to July 2020. In this role, they developed internal controls and training programs to ensure compliance with reporting requirements. Barbara also collaborated with leadership to address compliance matters with internal and external stakeholders.

From September 2020 to August 2022, Barbara served as a Finance Manager at Cobb County Water System. Barbara managed and coordinated financial planning, performed reconciliations of financial reports, and provided recommendations for ratings and bond requirements.

Afterward, Barbara worked as a CCBHC Financial Analyst at the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities from September 2022 to March 2023.

Currently, Barbara holds the position of Deputy Director of Finance at the Georgia Department of Community Health, beginning in March 2023. In this current role, they apply accounting standards and policies, assists in the preparation of financial reports, and serves as an audit liaison.

Throughout their career, Barbara has demonstrated strong financial expertise, auditing skills, and a commitment to compliance and fiscal responsibility.

Barbara Kaumeyer obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Jacksonville State University from 2003 to 2006. Barbara also holds additional certifications including the Certified Governmental Auditing Professional from the IIA - The Institute of Internal Auditors obtained in 2018, and the Certified Fraud Examiner from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) obtained in 2008.
