Joseph Hood

Joe Hood is an experienced professional in public administration and financial management, currently serving as Chief Operating Officer and previously in multiple executive roles at the Georgia Department of Community Health since December 2016. Notable past positions include Past Chair of the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council from April 2023 to April 2024, Division Director of Public Safety for the Georgia Governor's Office of Planning & Budget (May 2012 - December 2016), and Comptroller at the Georgia Department of Public Safety (November 2006 - April 2012). Joe Hood's earlier experience includes serving as Finance Director at the Georgia Emergency Management Agency and Division Director of Grants Administration at the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council. Joe Hood holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Georgia.
