Sharon Garner has extensive experience in education, currently serving as the Associate Superintendent at the Georgia-Cumberland Conference of Seventh-day Adventists since January 1993. In this role, Sharon collaborates with teachers to create exceptional learning opportunities for children, assists with curriculum development, and provides support for new educators. Prior to this position, Sharon was employed as a Teacher/Principal at the Michigan Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists from August 1991 to January 1993. Sharon holds a Master of Arts in Curriculum & Instruction & Supervision of Teachers from La Sierra University and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Southern Adventist University.

The Georgia-Cumberland Conference of Seventh-day Adventists oversees more than 200 churches, 35 companies, and 39 elementary and high schools located in Georgia, Eastern Tennessee, and Cherokee County in North Carolina. Also within this region are four Adventist hospitals, nine Adventist Community Services Centers, and one Adventist University. There more than 42,600 Seventh-day Adventist members of the Georgia-Cumberland Conference. The conference employs over 400 pastors, teachers, and support staff.
