Christopher Wainwright

Christopher Wainwright is an experienced fire and emergency management professional with a robust background in training and safety compliance. Since December 2020, Christopher has served as Fire Chief for the Georgia Department of Corrections. Concurrently, Christopher has been a Field Instructor with the Georgia Emergency Management Agency/Homeland Security since June 1992, training over 22,000 emergency service personnel with a 98% pass rate in critical areas such as HAZMAT and Incident Command. Christopher holds a long-standing role as Training Officer/Safety Officer with the Colquitt County Emergency Management Agency since January 1990, ensuring safety during responses and training. Previous roles include Safety and Compliance Specialist 3 at Augusta State Medical Prison and Fire Captain at Colquitt County Firefighters. Christopher is a trained NIMS Instructor and has acquired diplomas in Electrical Construction & Maintenance from Central Georgia Technical College.
