Ji-Yeon (Giana) Kim has extensive experience in economic development, international programs, and consulting. Since December 2016, Ji-Yeon has served as the Director, State of Georgia - Korea at the Georgia Department of Economic Development and simultaneously holds the position of Director at IRC Consulting. Previously, Ji-Yeon worked as the International Program Director at Save the Children from December 2012 to November 2016 and as Senior Program Manager for Research Coordination at the Global Green Growth Institute from October 2011 to November 2012. Earlier roles include Operations Manager at UNDP, Project Manager at the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency, and various positions at the British Embassy in Seoul. Academic qualifications include a Master’s degree in Economics from Yonsei University and a BA in Korean History from Sookmyung Women’s University.

The Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) is the state’s sales and marketing arm, the lead agency for attracting new business investment, encouraging the expansion of existing industry and small businesses, align workforce education and training with in-demand jobs, locating new markets for Georgia products, attracting tourists to Georgia, and promoting the state as a destination for arts and location for film, music and digital entertainment projects, as well as planning and mobilizing state resources for economic development.
