Madeline Lester is an accomplished project manager with extensive experience in economic development. Currently serving as Statewide Project Manager at the Georgia Department of Economic Development since March 2024, Madeline previously held roles as Project Manager and Associate Project Manager at Partnership Gwinnett, where efforts focused on job attraction, capital investment, and workforce development in Gwinnett County. In addition to participating as a Committee Member with the Southern Economic Development Council, Madeline has contributed as a Policy Intern at the Council for Quality Growth and gained valuable experience as an Economic Development Assistant for the City of Doraville. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business/Managerial Economics from Georgia State University.

The Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) is the state’s sales and marketing arm, the lead agency for attracting new business investment, encouraging the expansion of existing industry and small businesses, align workforce education and training with in-demand jobs, locating new markets for Georgia products, attracting tourists to Georgia, and promoting the state as a destination for arts and location for film, music and digital entertainment projects, as well as planning and mobilizing state resources for economic development.
