Michelle Shaw has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Michelle started their career in 1990 as an HR Administrator at Target Southeast Regional Distribution Center and later became an Operations Supervisor. In 1997, they joined Affinity Health Group as the Director of Marketing and Public Relations. Michelle then moved to Southeastern Freight Lines in 1999 as a Regional Account Manager. Finally, in 2006, they joined the Georgia Department of Economic Development, where they held various positions, including SR. Project Manager, Assistant Director, and Director of Existing Industry & Regional Recruitment.
Michelle Shaw attended Valdosta State University from 1983 to 1987. Michelle graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree, focusing on Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services.

The Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) is the state’s sales and marketing arm, the lead agency for attracting new business investment, encouraging the expansion of existing industry and small businesses, align workforce education and training with in-demand jobs, locating new markets for Georgia products, attracting tourists to Georgia, and promoting the state as a destination for arts and location for film, music and digital entertainment projects, as well as planning and mobilizing state resources for economic development.
