Louis Erste

Louis Erste is an experienced education professional with a comprehensive career spanning over four decades. Since March 2010, Louis Erste has served in various leadership roles at the Georgia Department of Education, currently as the State Schools Chief Policy Officer and Title IX Coordinator. Prior positions include Associate State Superintendent for District Flexibility, Charter Schools, Policy, and Government Affairs, as well as Charter Schools Division Director. Prior to the Georgia Department of Education, Louis Erste held executive roles at Mosaica Education, Inc. and served as COO for the District of Columbia Public Schools. Additional experience includes leadership positions in the Cleveland Municipal School District and the Citizens League of Greater Cleveland. Louis Erste holds a BA in Political Science from Cleveland State University and completed extensive studies towards a Political Science degree at the University of Michigan.
