Johnny Sabo currently serves as the Director and State Forester for the Georgia Forestry Commission since April 2023. Prior to this role, Johnny Sabo held various positions at the Florida Forest Service from July 2004 to April 2023, including Assistant Director, where responsibilities encompassed oversight of daily operations, forest management, wildland fire, logistics, support, and finance. Additionally, Johnny Sabo managed Florida's 1.1 million acres of State Forest and led initiatives within the Cooperative Forestry Assistance and Forest Health programs. Other roles included Field Operations Bureau Chief and Center Manager, overseeing forestry operations and emergency response in multiple counties. Johnny Sabo earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Management/Forest Resources Management from Clemson University between 2000 and 2004.
