Shan Zhou

Ivan Allen College Dean’s Fellow at Georgia Institute of Technology

Shan Zhou serves as the Ivan Allen College Dean’s Fellow at the Georgia Institute of Technology since August 2010, focusing on independent research concerning smart grid technology and policy innovation through extensive data work. Publications include a comparative study on EU smart grid leaders, an analysis of smart meter diffusion in the U.S., and an event history analysis of policy diffusion among EU nations. Previous roles include Summer Intern for smart grid data collection and Graduate Teaching Assistant for various courses, where responsibility included leading recitation sessions, facilitating class discussions, and providing academic support. Zhou also has experience as a Graduate Research Assistant conducting case studies on smart grid policy and analyzing environmental finance contexts in Asian financial centers. Educationally, Shan Zhou obtained a Ph.D. in Public Policy from the Georgia Institute of Technology from 2012 to 2016.
