Rodney Bettis has extensive military and law enforcement experience, currently serving as Command Sergeant Major in the Georgia National Guard since January 2004, with a background as a Senior Field Artillery Sergeant. Previously, Rodney held various positions within the City of Atlanta, including Police Officer, retiring in January 2015, and serving as a K-9 Handler at the Department of Aviation from June 2007 to July 2014. Additional experience includes a role as a Motorcycle Officer focused on traffic enforcement with the City of Atlanta Police from April 2001 to June 2007, and serving in the Georgia Army National Guard as an aircrew member on an OV-1 Mohawk from July 1985 to June 1991. Rodney Bettis completed education at Stockbridge High School from 1983 to 1986.
