Berneta L. Haynes

Berneta L. Haynes is a seasoned attorney with extensive experience in consumer protection, public policy advocacy, and legal research. Currently serving as a Senior Attorney at the National Consumer Law Center since March 2021, Berneta focuses on strategies addressing consumer energy bills and medical debt, emphasizing financial stability and racial equity. Previous roles include Senior Director of Policy and Access at Georgia Watch, where Berneta contributed to significant legislation, and various legal positions with organizations like the Southern Environmental Law Center and the Environmental Law & Policy Center.
