Michael Sims

Michael Sims is the Chief Commercial Banking Officer and Market Executive at Georgia's Own Credit Union since November 2022, following the acquisition of Vinings Bank. From May 2017 to November 2022, Michael held the position of Executive Vice President at Vinings Bank. Prior to that, Michael was the Executive Vice President and Chief Banking Officer at State Bank and Trust Company from March 2011 to October 2015. Michael's banking career also includes serving as Executive Vice President and Division Line of Business Manager for Commercial at SunTrust Bank from December 2001 to March 2011. Academic qualifications include an MBA from Samford University and bachelor's degrees in Accounting from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Finance from The University of Alabama. Michael is a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP).
