David Hudson

David Hudson has extensive experience in the field of Earth observation and satellite land imaging, currently serving as the Branch Head for Satellite Land Imaging Collection at Geoscience Australia since January 2008. David has held several leadership positions within the organization, including Director for Data Supply and Partnerships, Director for Satellite Programs, and Senior Advisor for Earth Observation. In addition to his work at Geoscience Australia, David was Co-Chair for the Asia Oceania region at the Group on Earth Observations from August 2016 to December 2021 and served as the Founding Chair of the Australian National Ground Segment Technical Team. Academic credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy from The Australian National University, focusing on the uptake of sensor data in emergency management, and a double degree in Geomatic Engineering and Information Systems from the University of Melbourne.
