David Huston

Principal Research Scientist at Geoscience Australia

David Huston has a strong background in research and academia. David began their career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Tasmania in 1989, where they worked until 1992. David then joined the Geological Survey of Canada as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, where they remained until 1995. In the same year, they joined Geoscience Australia as a Principal Research Scientist, focusing on regional metallogenesis and the spatial and secular distribution of ore deposits. David has extensive experience in various regions such as the North Australian Craton, Pilbara Craton, western Tasmania, and north Queensland. David'sprimary interest lies in Zn-Pb deposits and the relationship between tectonics and deposit distribution.

David Huston completed their Bachelor's degree in Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences from the University of Arizona from 1982 to 1984. David then went on to pursue a PhD in Geology from the University of Tasmania, which they completed from 1984 to 1989.
