Irina Borissova

Senior Scientist, Team Leader at Geoscience Australia

Irina Borissova has extensive work experience at Geoscience Australia. Irina first joined the company in 1994 as a Project scientist, where they worked until 2007. In 2008, they returned to Geoscience Australia and currently holds the role of Senior scientist and team leader in the Energy Systems Group of the Energy Division. Their recent work includes assessing the prospectivity of the Vlaming Sub-basin for geological storage of CO2 from 2011 to 2014, and working on the prospectivity of the frontier Houtman Sub-basin from 2014 to 2015, which involved running a 2D seismic survey.

Irina Borissova obtained their PhD degree in marine geology, geomorphology, and tectonics from Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) between 1981 and 1985.
