Richard Lane

Richard Lane is a Senior Geophysicist at Geoscience Australia, where responsibilities include providing geophysical expertise, leadership, and mentoring to projects and geophysicists since September 2001. Prior to this role, Richard served as a Key Researcher at the Deep Exploration Technologies Cooperative Research Centre from January 2009 to June 2013, representing Geoscience Australia during the centre's mission definition. Richard's earlier experience includes being the Chief Geophysicist at Fugro Airborne Surveys/World Geoscience Corporation from 1997 to 2001, where significant achievements included the development of the TEMPEST Airborne Electromagnetic System. Richard began the career as a Geophysicist at CRA Exploration Pty Ltd, progressing to Principal Geophysicist, managing technical quality across multiple projects. Educational qualifications include a B.Sc (Hons) in Geology and Geophysics from the University of Melbourne and a Higher School Certificate from Melbourne Grammar School, with a focus on sciences and mathematics.
