Shane Crossman

Shane Crossman has extensive work experience in the field of geospatial and spatial data management. Shane is currently working at Geoscience Australia as the Director Coordination and Delivery for the Digital Atlas of Australia. Prior to this, they served as the Programme Director for Digital Earth Australia at the same organization.

In 2014, Shane joined Geoscience Australia as a Project Manager, where they contributed to the development of the Location Index (Loc-I) framework, focusing on integrating data related to people, business, and the environment. Shane also worked as a Project Leader, overseeing ELVIS, an open data project that involved managing cloud infrastructures and elevation data custodianship.

Before their tenure at Geoscience Australia, Shane worked at the Office of Spatial Policy as a Project Manager/Leader from 2013 to 2014. During this time, they played a key role in managing various projects.

At Geoscience Australia, Shane also served as a Technical Project Leader and a Section Leader, working on projects related to national water information and surface hydrology datasets. Shane collaborated with state jurisdictions, CSIRO, and the Australian National University (ANU) to develop and maintain national datasets.
