Mark Brownless

Chief Technology Officer | Chief Geoscientist at Geoteric

Mark Brownless has a diverse work experience in the geoscience and technology field. Mark started their career as a Petrel Sales Manager and Technical Expert at Technoguide AS in 1999 before moving on to Schlumberger Information Systems as a Petrel Segment Sales Specialist in 2002. In 2005, they became the Regional Manager MEPO at SPT Group and continued in that role until 2009 when they joined Numerical Rocks as a Sales and Marketing Director. In 2010, they became the Technical Director at Geoknowledge before transitioning to BG Group in 2011. At BG Group, they held two roles during their tenure - Consultant Geologist and later, Head of Development Geoscience. In 2017, Mark joined Schlumberger as the SIS Geoscience Advisor Manager before becoming the Chief Technology Officer and Chief Geoscientist at GeoTeric in 2018.

Overall, Mark has demonstrated expertise in various aspects of geoscience and technology, including sales, management, advisory, and leadership positions.

Mark Brownless obtained a Bachelor's degree in Geology with Geochemistry from The University of Manchester, where they attended from 1987 to 1990. Following this, they pursued a PhD in Environmental Sciences at the University of East Anglia from 1990 to 1994. During their doctoral studies, Mark focused on various fields including Geology, Chemistry, Carbonates, Evaporites, Fluid Flow, Isotopes, and Dolomitisation.
