Michaël MONTOUCHET

Senior Research Engineer at Geoteric

Michaël MONTOUCHET began their work experience as an Assistant foreman on a working site at Bouygues Construction in 2011. Michaël then had a 5-month internship in research and development in geostatistics and uncertainties applied to geological modelling at Total E&P in 2012. Following this, they worked as a Research & development - geologist specialized in geomodelling and geostatistics at TOTAL E&P UK from September 2012 to February 2014. Afterwards, they joined GeoTeric as a Research Engineer from May 2014 to March 2016, where they focused on algorithm design and implementation in Matlab and C++. From April 2016 to September 2017, they worked at ESTIMAGES as a Research and Development Engineer, designing new algorithms in the geostatistical domain. Michaël joined Geoteric in September 2017 as a Research Engineer before being promoted to Senior Research Engineer in January 2019. At Geoteric, they worked on algorithm design and implementation, as well as RAM and speed optimization. Michaël has worked on various algorithms such as fault stick interpolation, fault surface reconstruction, and spectral expression.

Michaël MONTOUCHET attended Lycée Henri Poincaré in Nancy from 2007 to 2009, focusing on advanced mathematics and physics. After that, from 2009 to 2012, they pursued their higher education at Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Nancy, where they obtained a master's degree in "Ingénieur Civil des Mines" in the field of general science. In addition to their formal education, Michaël MONTOUCHET also obtained a certification in Deep Learning Specialization from Coursera in August 2019.
